What We Collect

To provide the service, Finralis stores the account information you give us directly: your username, email address, and the financial data you enter such as accounts, balances, budgets, transactions, and recurring expenses. Passwords are stored as salted hashes, never in plain text.

Our Philosophy: Collect Less

Most apps gather broad personal data and then rely on security controls to keep it safe. We'd rather not collect data we don't need in the first place, it's simpler and there's nothing to protect that was never gathered. Finralis never asks for your real name to create an account, registration only requires a username, an email address, and a password, and both the username and email can be anything you choose. If you pick a username and email that don't reveal your identity, and skip the optional name and photo fields on your profile, your account record contains nothing that ties it back to you personally. This isn't an absolute guarantee against every method of identification, standard web server logs maintained by our hosting provider include IP addresses, as they do for nearly every website, anything you type into a transaction or account description is up to you, and any future paid plan requiring billing information would necessarily involve additional personal data, but the core account data we ask for directly is, by design, as anonymous as you choose to make it.

Bank Account Syncing (Coming Soon)

Finralis plans to offer optional bank and credit account syncing through Plaid, Inc. If you choose to connect a bank account once this feature is available, your login credentials are provided directly to Plaid and are never seen or stored by Finralis. We will only request read-only access to your account transactions and balances. Plaid's use of your information is governed by Plaid's End User Privacy Policy, which we encourage you to review.

How We Use Your Data

Your data is used solely to provide Finralis's budgeting and account-tracking features to you. We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising or share it with third parties for marketing purposes.

Data Retention & Deletion

You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time from Profile > Danger Zone. If you cancel a paid plan, any linked bank connections are severed and the associated access tokens are revoked.
